Those who have not organized such a gathering as this have no idea of the amount of effort that goes into a successful evening.
In a volunteer operation, planning and relentless, energetic, able, management are in short supply. The plain fact is that the go ahead, reliable people who can be called upon to meet their commitments come hell of high water are few. They end up as the "willing horses", the "horses" that can be counted upon. They bear almost all the load because there is no second chance, there is no opportunity to do the evening over again to correct the failures of people who produce excuses instead of on time results.
